Join Save the Dunes at the Indiana Dunes National Park as we celebrate Plastic-Free July with a Plastic-Free Picnic, as a part of our single-use plastic reduction efforts, funded by the National Park Foundation.
Packing a plastic-free picnic means replacing disposable packaging with reusable dishware and natural materials. Swap single-use plastics for durable, earth-friendly alternatives like glass jars, stainless steel bento boxes, and cloth napkins. It reduces waste and keeps wildlife and parks clean!
We'll be popping up at West Beach, a section of Indiana Dunes National Park that offers scenic trails, guarded beaches, and plenty of opportunities to learn about the regions biodiversity! This event focuses on education and outreach around single-use plastic reduction, leave no trace practices, and more!
A park ranger from the Indiana Dunes will be there to answer any questions about the park, trails, and ways we can make an impact through Leave No Trace in our park.
The first 50 people who register & attend will receive a plastic- free goodie bag which includes snacks, reusable metal straws, and a custom Hydroflask stainless steel water bottle! Registration is required to receive a goodie bag.
